The John Milton Reading Room is an online edition of the complete poetry and selected prose of John Milton, with introductions, research guides, and hyperlinked annotations. Reading Milton’s poetry and prose in an edition with that links users to hundreds of useful resources—biblical, classical, political, historical and reference—helps first-time readers and seasoned scholars. Begun in 1997, the Milton Reading Room fulfills about 6,000 requests for pages each day from more than 75 countries. Dozens of instructors use the site regularly in university courses around the world. The Milton Reading Room facebook page is experimenting successfully with crow-sourced scholarship.
